Geneva moves fast, and looking effortlessly put-together shouldn't cost you twenty minutes at the mirror every morning. Our studio is dedicated to one discipline only — eyelash extensions — and Russian Volume is where we truly shine. Rather than bonding a single extension to each natural lash, we build tiny handmade fans of ultra-fine fibres and place them lash by lash. The effect is lush, sculpted, camera-ready density that still feels weightless. If you want a fuller, more defined gaze tailored precisely to your eye shape, read on before booking your appointment.
What Russian Volume actually is
Russian Volume is a fanning technique. Classic extensions use a one-to-one ratio: one extension on one natural lash. Russian Volume instead uses lashes so fine — typically 0.03 to 0.07 mm in diameter — that a stylist can bundle several of them into a hand-crafted fan and attach that fan to a single natural lash without overloading it.
Because each individual fibre is a fraction of the thickness of a classic extension, multiplying them adds richness, not weight. That is the entire art form: maximum density, minimum burden on your own lashes. It demands a steady hand, sharp eyesight and hundreds of hours of trained practice, which is exactly why a specialist lash studio outperforms a general beauty salon here.
Russian Volume vs classic vs hybrid
- Classic (lash-by-lash): one extension per natural lash. A soft, natural "your lashes but better" effect.
- Hybrid (Mixed set): a blend of single classic lashes and small volume fans. A refined middle ground that adds texture and fills sparse areas without full drama.
- Russian Volume: fans only, for maximum fullness and a couture, gradient finish.
Within Russian Volume, intensity is described in "D" — the number of lashes per fan:
- 2D/3D — two to three lashes per fan. Elegant, sophisticated, entirely believable. The everyday favourite for Geneva professionals who want a beautiful look from boardroom to dinner.
- 4D/5D — four to five lashes per fan. More depth, more shadow, a confident doe-eyed effect that still reads as real.
- Mega Volume — six up to roughly fifteen ultra-fine lashes per fan. The full statement: intense, inky density for weddings, shoots or a boldly glamorous signature.
Your appointment, step by step
- Consultation and mapping. We study your eye shape, the condition of your natural lashes, your lifestyle and your goals, then design a "map" of lengths and curls to balance and flatter your gaze — lifting, elongating or creating a cat-eye.
- Preparation. Careful cleansing and degreasing of the lashes, then protective under-eye pads to isolate the lower lashes.
- Isolation and fan-making. Lash by lash, your stylist separates a single natural lash, forms the appropriate fan with tweezers and places it about 0.5–1 mm from the lid.
- Building the set. Anywhere from 200 to 600 fans depending on the intensity you chose. Expect two to three and a half hours — a long application, and that patience is precisely what buys the precision.
- Final check and cure. Combing, symmetry check and personalised aftercare guidance.
You lie back comfortably with your eyes closed in our quiet cabin. Plenty of clients drift off — treat it as a genuine hour of calm.
The benefits of a well-built Russian Volume set
- Definition from the moment you wake up, no mascara required.
- A weightless feel despite the fullness, thanks to those ultra-fine fibres.
- Total customisation of length, curl and intensity to suit your face.
- Real time saved every morning and a rested, brighter-looking eye.
- A result that is entirely bespoke, never a copy-paste template.
Who Russian Volume is for
Russian Volume is ideal if your natural lashes are fine or sparse and classic extensions never gave you the density you dreamed of. It equally suits anyone who loves a defined, dramatic gaze — brides, on-camera professionals and busy people who want to wake up "ready". If your natural lashes are strong, even Mega Volume is on the table. If they are currently fragile, we will steer you toward a gentle 2D/3D or a hybrid set. The consultation lets us give you an honest recommendation every time.
Longevity and refill rhythm
Your natural lashes grow and shed on their own cycle — roughly two to five a day — and extensions leave with them. To keep the set looking crisp, we recommend a refill every two to three weeks. At a refill we remove any grown-out fans and rebuild the thinned areas.
- A new (full) set is a complete removal followed by a full rebuild — your starting point, and the right call once more than about half the extensions have shed.
- A two-week refill is faster and therefore more economical.
- A three-to-four-week refill requires more rebuilding, which is why it is priced slightly higher.

Frequently asked questions
Will Russian Volume damage my natural lashes?
Not when it is done properly. Because the fibres are ultra-fine, the total weight on each natural lash stays well within what it can carry. Damage comes from over-heavy or poorly isolated work — which is exactly why a specialist matters.
How long does the appointment take?
Two to three and a half hours depending on intensity, with Mega Volume being the longest. Most clients relax or nap through it.
Does it hurt?
Not at all. Your eyes stay closed and nothing touches the skin or lid. You feel nothing.
How often do I need a refill?
Every two to three weeks keeps the set flawless. Past four weeks, a fresh full set is often the better value.
Can I wear make-up over them?
Powder eyeshadow, yes. Mascara and oil-based products, no — they clog and weaken the fans.
Can I swim and go to the gym?
Yes, after the first 24 to 48 hours. Rinse with clean water after the pool and pat dry gently.
Which intensity should I pick for my first visit?
2D/3D is the ideal starting point: elegant, versatile and easy to live with. We can always intensify at your next appointment.
Can I go back to natural easily?
Yes. Simply stop refilling and let the extensions shed with your natural cycle, or come in for a gentle professional removal.
